In the latter part of 1899, a group of Kern County landowners combined their holdings to form Theta Oil and Land Company. Over one hundred years later, the company continues to manage several thousand acres of productive land and minerals in Kern County — serving as stewards for responsible development of the land and continuing to return value to its shareholders (many of whom are descendants of the original founders).
